Wine Review: For my wife’s birthday we opened this special bottle of Chardonnay. This rich yellow wine opens with a moderate grapefruit like bouquet. On the palate is when this wine shows why it is special. This wine is very very creamy and is extremely smooth. This full bodied wine is rich and has concentrated green apple flavors. It is just delicious!! It would pair well with my favorite dish Chicken St. Timothy. (Sautéed chicken, with scallions, mushrooms, heavy cream, chardonnay, & butter) The finish of this wine is refined, dry, a touch acidic, and a bit brief. This wine was a treat for a special occasion and we loved it. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: We have been crafting chardonnay from this distinctive vineyard on Sonoma Mountain since 1991. This wine helped put us "on the map" and the 2004 vintage certainly lives up to the reputation it has garnered over the years. Its yellow-gold color is accented by a pale straw rim. Scents of orange marmalade and gardenia are punctuated by a hint of caramel. A creamy texture and rich flavors of yellow apple, kumquat, harvest spices and toasted brioche meld to deliver a luxuriant mouth feel. A seemingly unstoppable finish is further enhanced by this wine’s hallmark mineral characteristics of volcanic tuft and crushed granite.
