Wine Review: Have you experienced a good Pinotage? I was just blown away by this one. As a matter of fact, there is a cannon on the label. How appropriate. This dark purple wine’s bouquet just burst from the glass. It shows off scents of leather and black current. On the palate, the wine is full bodied, is nicely round, but does express some acidity for sure. The wine is loaded with juicy and spicy blackberry fruit flavors and is very satisfying. The finish is dry and sails on fro quite some time. This would be a wonderful choice for a big rack of Memphis styled ribs. This is a great introduction to Pinotage, but you will be spoiled. Winemaker Notes: Full bodied – deep ruby colour – soft oak and grape tannins – complex wine. Cherry, banana, berry and casis flavours.
