Wine Review: This very dark purple wine opens with a mild blackberry bouquet with hints of licorice. On the palate, the wine is smooth, well balanced, has pronounced flavor backed wild berries with spice and licorice. The finish is very dry, has fine tannins that are tingly and slightly prolonged. This is an elegant wine that paired very well with our veal tenderloin with a brown mushroom sauce. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Rich aromas of dark plum, black cherry, chocolate, violets, dried sage, star anise, currant and vanilla caramel followed by balanced, luscious, ripe flavors of plum, blackberry, black cherry, dark chocolate, black pepper and cassis. Well structured with integrated tannins and a silky smooth vanilla and spicy oak finish. Food Pairing: An excellent match for filet mignon, cabernet braised lamb shanks, wild game such as elk or boar, London broil, filet of beef in puffed pastry, beef short ribs or rich chocolate desserts like pot de crème.
