Wine Review: I was very impressed with this Italian wine that stood out at a recent trade tasting that I attended. This very dark red wine opens with a traditional earthy, musty, black cherry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is very very dry, smooth, and has delightful cherry flavors. The finish is extremely dry, has fine tannins and is very prolonged. At this point, I would enjoy this wine without food. I would say this wine would be better with food after a year or so in the cellar. Either way the wine is terrific. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Luce 2003 is a lustrous, striking purple-red, almost opaque to the eye. Delicate notes of wild berryfruit, such as blueberry and blackberry, are obvious on the nose, enriched by spicier nuances of cinnamon and nutmeg, and with a final, elegant touch of crisp mint. Luce impresses immediately on the palate, with good, velvet-textured weight; expansive, fine-grained tannins; a firm, sturdy structure, concluding with a finale that seems endless.
