It is dark ruby in color and opens with a slightly earthy like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, soft, and easy to drink. Its flavor profile is a dusty raspberry. The finish is quite dry and shows building tannins that last a very long time. This is a perfect wine for steak off the grill. Enjoy – Ken Winemaker Notes: The 2006 Novy Sonoma County Syrah is perhaps the most complex offering we have offered under this label. The wine marries the diverse vineyard locations revealing black cherry, rhubarb, mint, and cocoa powder flavors. There is a distinct cedar note and also an earthy, coal like character. This is a young wine that opens up with several hours of aeration. It can be paired now with hearty dishes but will certainly benefit if tucked away in a cellar for several years.
