Wine Review: Rolf Binder has consistently produced some of my favorite wines from down under. This years Halliwell is a wine that you will find to be a great match with food. This wine is opaque and a very dark ruby color. It opens with a very appealing blackberry bouquet with hints of plum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and graceful. The flavor profile is a very enjoyable blackberry and black cherry combination. There is a touch of spice as well. This wine has absolutely no hard edges. Its finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger for quite some time. As I mentioned, this wine is very food friendly and would pair quite well with pulled pork sliders. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The true key to the wine is the Grenache. In the years Shiraz is strong and bold, the Grenache is somewhat subdued but in others, the Grenache leaps out with spice cherries and strong tannins.
