2008 Adegas Morgadio Spanish White "Albarino"![]() Winery: Adegas Morgadio Vintage: 2008 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Albarino" Wine Category: Spanish White Grape blend: 100% Albarino Region: Rias Baixas State or country: Spain Price: $20 Cases produced: 5,000 KWG Score: 90.5 (based on 2 reviews) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good+ (91) Review date: June 17, 2009 Wine Review: This light yellow colored Albarino is always one of my favorite Spanish white wines each year. This vintage is no exception. This very quaffable wine opens with an attractive peach and guava like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth, and very well balanced. One reviewer called it dangerously drinkable. The flavor profile is a delicious light peach with gently infused minerality throughout. The finish is dry and drifts away very nicely. This wine would be a perfect complement to bacon wrapped scallops or chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy - Ken Winemaker Notes: A low-yield, late Albarino harvest produced a reduced quantity healthy grapes with exceptional aromatic complexity. Fresh yet full, MorgadÃo's tropically intense style is in full evidence. A wine with structure that will last in bottle well beyond the norm.
