2008 Lail Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc "Blueprint"![]() Winery: Lail Vineyards Vintage: 2008 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Blueprint" Wine Category: Sauvignon Blanc Grape blend: 100% Sauvignon Blanc Region: Napa Valley State or country: CA Price: $38 Cases produced: 927 KWG Score: 89 (based on 1 review) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good (89) Review date: June 19, 2009 Wine Review: This straw yellow colored Sauvignon Blanc from Napa is stylistically different than most Sauvignon Blanc you will try. It opens with a cut grass and green pepper like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and slightly citrusy. The flavor profile is a complex blend of ripe peach, apricot, butterscotch, and some minerality. The finish is dry and lingers for a little while. The group that tried this wine liked it and would pair it with chicken marsala. Enjoy - Ken Winemaker Notes: Our "Blueprint" Sauvignon Blanc exhibits the fabulous acidity, minerality and amazing purity of its Sancerre sisters. Produced with a focus on preservation of aromatics and acidity, it has a delicate pale straw robe, an elegant and intense floral perfume (geranium, melon and lime), and crisp fruit flavors with profound richness and length.
