Wine Review: This ruby colored Mencia from Spain opens with a smoky oak bouquet accented with cherries, plum, and leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a red currant and cranberry blend. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are reasonably prolonged. I would pair this wine with tangy pulled pork sandwiches. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: One hundred percent Mencia, partially aged in new French oak. The oak remains in the background, bright red berry fruit and slate on the nose is followed by lingering fruit and minerality in the flavor.
