Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored wine from Verona opens with a shoe polish and ripe plum bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and rather smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty flinty mineral infused plum with notes of old oak and black olive. I also detected some hints of mulberry and a hint of nutmeg towards the end. The finish is dry and its dusty moderate tannins stick around for a very long time. I would pair this wine with baby-back spareribs with dark beer and honey. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This wine is a deep ruby red and easily pairs with various Italian dishes, above all risottos, especially those flavoured with saffron, porcini mushrooms and pork.
