Wine Review: This big boy wine from Alpha Omega finished in 4th place in our recent high end red blind tasting. It is opaque and very dark purple colored. It opens with a black currant and black cherry bouquet with a hint of coffee. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, smooth and silky. The flavor profile is black currant with notes of nicely integrated old oak and black cherry. We also detected hints of black tea as well. The finish is very dry and its dusty tannins are substantial and build up for quite a while. The panel suggested decanting this wine for at least an hour and then serving it with a Cowboy ribeye or spare ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Color: deep, dark cherry with touches of black ink and red strawberry on the rim. On the nose: explosion of thyme, cigar box, cedar wood and white pepper with touches of concentrated dark fruit like cassis and blueberry with roast beef, wood sap and chocolate covered bacon lingering on fresh prune, violet and lavender. On the palate: velvety entrance evolving on blueberry balanced with blackberry and cherry lingering on a fresh acidity and precise tannins which predict a long aging potential.
