Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Oregon was well received by our tasting group. It opens with a bouquet of mild spiced plum with a hint of leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe plum and black raspberry blend with notes of refined flinty minerality throughout. We also detected a presence of cedar, tea and black pepper as well. It was pretty complex. The finish is dry and it drifted away nicely. This Pinot did evolve with swirling and aeration. I would decant it briefly and serve it with duck confit. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This wine has a very dark ruby red color reminiscent of a black cherry. The aromas are a deep, dark, brooding perfume of black fruits, beef bouillon, spice cupboard, black licorice, savory herb garden, and tobacco leaf. This is a very concentrated young wine that has years of promise ahead of it. Rich flavors of black cherry and black raspberry coat the mouth. Silky smooth with fine grained fruit and wood tannins that give this wine not only power, but grace as well.
