Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from Cakebread in very good. It opens with a ripe black cherry, vanilla and oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, rich and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a ripe black cherry and chocolate blend with notes of loganberry. I also detected a hint of cardamom and minerality towards the end. The finish is dry its ripe flavors and medium tannins show nice length. This wine would pair nicely with slow-cooked short ribs. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Lovely ripe fruit aromas of wild cherry, boysenberry and cassis, enriched by complex loam, dark chocolate and toasted oak scents, prefigure the marvelously round, mouth-filling palate of this wonderfully deep, concentrated red blend. Intense and potent dark cherry, blackberry, boysenberry and blackcurrant flavors are joined in the very long, succulent finish by spice, sweet oak and mineral tones. Buoyed by big, but very supple tannins, this luscious red is immensely appealing now, but it will develop even greater allure with another 8-10 years' aging.
