2007 Calcareous Cabernet Sauvignon "Twisted Sisters"![]() Winery: Calcareous Vintage: 2007 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Twisted Sisters" Wine Category: Cabernet Sauvignon Grape blend: 94% Cabernet Sauvignon & 6% Petite Verdot Region: Central Coast State or country: CA Price: $25 Cases produced: 525 KWG Score: 90.3 (based on 3 reviews) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good+ (92) Review date: February 8, 2010 Wine Review: This was my favorite wine from the Calcareous portfolio that I tried at this year's Boston Wine Expo. It was opaque and dark purple colored and opens with a very attractive blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very well balanced, and concentrated. The flavor profile is a ripe blueberry with notes of black pepper and blackberry. The finish is rather dry and its huge tannins are very lengthy. This wine needs fat, so pair it with a cowboy ribeye and enjoy - Ken Winemaker Notes: Stunning, inky red color, with a nose of deliciously dark dusky forest fruits framed in subtle French Oak. Morrelo Cherries excite the palate with a lingering complement of fine mocha chocolate. Savor with a choice cut of prime Angus. Organic status: not organic Subscribers: Have you tried this wine?
