Wine Review: This ruby red colored Chianti Classico Riserva from Monsanto opens with a light oak and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is well-balanced, medium bodied, nicely coats your mouth and is smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry and oak blend with nicely integrated minerality. I also detected some hints of tart black plum towards the end. The finish is dry and it moderate tannins are dusty and stick around for quite a while. This is definitely a food wine. I would pair it with Bon Appetit’s Classic Ragu Bolognese. Enjoy - Ken
