2010 Chehalem Gruner Veltliner "Ribbon Ridge"![]() Winery: Chehalem Vintage: 2010 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Ribbon Ridge" Wine Category: Gruner Veltliner Grape blend: 100% Gruner Veltliner Region: Ribbon Ridge State or country: OR Price: $21 Cases produced: 207 KWG Score: 90.3 (based on 3 reviews) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good+ (90) Review date: May 2, 2012 Wine Review: This pale white gold colored wine is a rarity. It is a Gruner Veltliner from Oregon. It opens with a pleasant tangerine bouquet with a hint of wet stone, spice, and Bosc Pear. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, round and slightly acidic. The flavor profile is a pleasant green apple with notes of minerality and Bosc pear. I also detected a hint of white pepper and lime. The finish is dry, crisp and refreshing. This is a very flavorful white wine that will pair very well with steamed mussels in a garlic white wine broth. Enjoy - Ken Winemaker Notes: Fruity and spicy components combine, with ripe peach, stone, white flower, licorice, white pepper aromas and flavors, with great texture and weight ending in a ripe white fruit finish. The third vintage bottling of Gruner. Organic status: not organic Buy it: Use 1000 Corks to find stores that sell Chehalem 2010 Gruner Veltliner. Subscribers: Have you tried this wine?
