Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Chateauneuf du Pape opens with a light black cherry and oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty mild black currant and gentle black raspberry blend with notes of blueberry and oak. The finish is dry and its well managed tannins are sticky and show nice length. This wine is very food friendly and would pair well with a pork tenderloin seasoned with thyme. Enjoy - Ken

Clinking Glasses Before Tasting Wine: Originates from medieval times. Milk was often spoiled, water was often polluted. Wine was usually safe. The host would drink the wine first and then clink glasses with guests to show the wine was good and safe for drinking.
