Wine Review: This light yellow colored Roussanne from Donelan is very very good. It opens with a mild pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty mild Anjou pear with hints of mild minerality and a faint touch of honey and apple towards the end. The finish is dry and it drifts away nicely. This is a very good example of Roussanne. It will certainly be a very popular when you serve it. Serve it blind and have your friends try to guess what it is. For food, I would pair it with chicken francese. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Our sites for Roussanne are in such cool spots that they continue to be the latest pick of the season, while remaining delicate in nature. The result is a classic duet of complexity and freshness, true to the Venus legacy. The decadence of the Roussanne is adorned with a small addition of Viognier. Both are fermented in neutral barrels and puncheons to display the pure prettiness of the fruit. The palate whispers with sophisticated white pepper and bright characters of key lime pie, fresh apricot, and orange zest.
