Wine Review: This opaque and onyx colored Zinfandel opens with a fragrant blackberry and black raspberry bouquet with a hint of twigs. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very fruity and forward. The flavor profile is a ripe and extracted black raspberry with notes of black currant. I also detected a hint of anise, black pepper and plum. The finish is dry and its flavors last for quite a while after the wines is gone. This wine calls out for barbecue. Pair it with a messy rack of ribs. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2010 vintage of Heritage Zinfandel presents an excellent cool vintage aroma profile of blueberry, red currants, earthy dustiness and mineral nuances. The low alcohol nature of this wine shines through immediately with silky smooth tannins and a firm grip of natural acidity and balance. The fruit is substantial with layers of black cherry, mixed berries, currants and allspice. This Zinfandel is superbly balanced and satisfying, repeating the earthy, mixed berry theme while also carrying forward subtler hints of white and black pepper. The finish lingers on creating a mouth-watering desire for another sip.
