Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Merlot from Emmolo was tied for our top spot in our recent big blind tasting. It opens with a blueberry and oak like bouquet with a hint of anise. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, lush and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a concentrated blueberry and black cherry jam with notes of oak and hints of minerality and a touch of strawberry in the end. This finish is dry and its fruit flavors and soft tannins fade away nicely. The panel suggested pairing this homemade meatloaf or Irish lamb stew. Enjoy - KWGTP
