Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot opens with an attractive black raspberry bouquet with a touch of menthol. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and rich. The flavor profile is a blend of black cherry, cranberry, and strawberry with some nicely integrated oak. The finish is dry and its fine tannins are slightly prolonged. The panel thought this Pinot could use a little more cellar time to show it ultimate potential. However in the meantime, they would it with grilled salmon or roast duck breast. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The 2007 growing season was long and dry, yielding small berries with tremendous flavor and concentration. This wine has more depth and power than the 2006 Freestone wines, along with the structure and elegance of a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. The wine exudes layers of sandalwood, anise, cassis and dried tea leaves. Its density lingers on the palate and offers flavors of plum, bing cherries, black tea and tobacco, while the finish provides the spicy and earthy characteristics that are typical of Freestone wines.
