Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Shiraz from Gemtree opens with a fragrant black raspberry bouquet with hints of pastel dinner mints and Bing cherry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very nicely balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe blackberry and black raspberry blend with notes of black licorice and plum. I also detected a hint of cinnamon. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins fade away nicely. This fruity organic Shiraz is friendly enough for food. I would pair it with duck confit crostini. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Unfined, unfiltered, uncompromising and unquestionably our brand "hero", this wine delivers the goods year in, year out. Uncut refers to the uncut gem in its raw form, nothing added from vineyard to bottle. It's a true expression of McLaren Vale Shiraz. It is bright ruby with lively purple hues and has fleshy aromas of red berries, cocoa, dark chocolate, spices and herbs. The palate is rich, generous and beautifully integrated. The flavours epitomize McLaren Vale Shiraz with the evenly balanced characteristics expressing the purity of the soil it comes from and the light handed winemaking approach. Pair with a chargrilled Texas T-bone steak.
