Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chardonnay from the Bacigalupi Vineyard in the Russian River Valley is quite impressive. It opens with a fragrant pear and pineapple bouquet with hint of banana and lightly toasted oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, creamy and very rich. The flavor profile is a tasty oak and butterscotch blend with notes of pear. We also detected some hints of pineapple and coconut mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. The Panel suggested pairing this very nice Chard with lobster bisque or lobster mac n’ cheese. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Gibbs 2014 Russian River Chardonnay was sourced from the Bacigalupi Vineyard. Barrel fermented in 60% new French oak and stirred on the lees, this is a beautiful Burgundian style Chardonnay. Aromas of honey suckle, vanilla and a hint of oak give way to a round, luscious body of melon, peach, apricot and pear. There is a bright acidity that shows in the body and makes for a clean finish with a hint of crisp green apple and lemon zest.
