Wine Review: This pale straw colored Chardonnay from Handley is very good. It opens with a mild vanilla and oak bouquet with a hint of apple. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and balanced. The flavor profile is a butterscotch and oak blend with hints of pear. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. This Chard is rich and would pair nicely with lobster bisque. Winemaker Notes: This wine shows aromas of apple blossoms, poached pear, toasted coconut, and hints of spicy oak. Flavors of pear, stone fruit, and citrus swirl on the palate. It is medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel finishing with notes of creme fraiche and caramelized sugar. Pairs well with butternut squash ravioli with a sage brown butter sauce or chicken pot pie.
