2008 Hugel Gewurztraminer![]() Winery: Hugel Vintage: 2008 Wine Name/Vineyard: Wine Category: Gewurztraminer Grape blend: 100% Gewurztraminer Region: Alsace State or country: France Price: $24 Cases produced: 1,400 KWG Score: 89 (based on 1 review) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good (89) Review date: March 8, 2010 Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Gewurtz opens with a mild lychee bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very well bodied, smooth, and gentle. The flavor profile is a very mild lychee that makes this wine very approachable and versatile. The finish is dry ad pleasant. This wine is food friendly and would add a lot to roasted garlic chicken. Enjoy – Ken Winemaker Notes: The wine has expressive aromas that are typically floral, with roses, orange blossom, hawthorn, Williams pear, lychee, and a note of oriental fragrance. On the palate, the wine is dry, yet rich, fine and elegant, with excellent balance. While it can be enjoyed upon release to enjoy its freshness and verve, it can also be kept for 2 to 3 years.
