Wine Review: Juume Serra Cristalino (once just Cristalino) Rose NV Brut is one of the best Rose values on the market. At times the Cava seems to be unsure of itself, but give it some time to settle after opening the bottle and all the elements come together nicely. The shimmering salmon hues of the wine is accompanied by a bouquet of roses, strawberries and freshly picked raspberries. The palate is robust, with plenty of red berry fruit notes and the slightest hint of smoke, which is always an indication of a good quality rose. Pair with smoked salmon or BBQ short ribs. Winemaker Notes: This fine Spanish sparkling wine is made using the Traditional Method, in which the secondary fermentation producing a sparkling wine's bubbles occurs in the bottle. Its beautiful strawberry and raspberry aromas and vibrant red berry and cherry flavors lead to a clean, crisp finish that invites another sip. Enjoy it on its own and with fresh fruit, fried appetizers like calamari and light desserts like creme brulee.
