Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored wine from Australia opens with a mild blackberry bouquet with a hint of red currant. On the palate this wine is medium bodied, balanced and easy going. The flavor profile is a tasty mild blackberry and plum blend with hints of minerality and black licorice. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are subtle. This wine would pair well with teriyaki steak tips or beef satay. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The nose reveals silky notes of cherry fruits, older oak flavors and dark chocolate that meld together seamlessly. Shiraz and Grenache combine beautifully on the rich palate laying down a round and textural experience redolent of dark cherries, chocolate notes and well integrated quality oak finishing smooth and persistent.

Your comments on this wine:

Clinking Glasses Before Tasting Wine: Originates from medieval times. Milk was often spoiled, water was often polluted. Wine was usually safe. The host would drink the wine first and then clink glasses with guests to show the wine was good and safe for drinking.
