Wine Review: This very dark opaque purple colored Cab from Lail opens with a mild ripe blackberry bouquet that also shows a hint of spice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very smooth, well balanced and impressive. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild black currant with notes of eucalyptus and a hint of black licorice. The finish is pretty dry and its fine tannins show finesse as it sails on and on for quite some time. Pair this lovely Cab with filet mignon and enjoy! Ken

Winemaker Notes: Introducing the first Blueprint Cabernet Sauvignon! Originally, this wine was whimsically dubbed "Blueprint" as a nod to Jon Lail’s Napa Valley architectural practice and also because it was made like our flagship J. Daniel Cuvee, which was a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Since the J. Daniel Cuvee has evolved to a Cabernet Sauvignon, so too has our Blueprint red wine with the 2006 vintage. It continues to be the proud sister to J. Daniel Cuvee, albeit with a focus on immediate manners at the dining table.
