2007 Leeuwin Estate Australian (Red Blend) "Prelude Vineyards Cabernet Merlot"![]() Winery: Leeuwin Estate Vintage: 2007 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Prelude Vineyards Cabernet Merlot" Wine Category: Australian (Red Blend) Grape blend: 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, & 4% Malbec Region: Margaret River State or country: Australia Price: $29 Cases produced: 400 KWG Score: 88 (based on 1 review) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good (88) Review date: January 25, 2012 Wine Review: This Aussie red blend is opaque and very dark purple colored. It opens with a black currant bouquet with a hint of black licorice and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and fruit forward. Those fruits are a blend of tangy plum and red currant with hints of oak and pomegranate. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger for a little bit. This wine would pair well with slow cooked and tangy pulled pork.
