Wine Review: This pitch black colored Mencia from Bierzo is impressive. It opens with a mild black raspberry and wet stone bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a black plum and minerality blend with notes of smoked oak. I also detected hints black cherry. The finish is dry and its flavors and dusty mild tannins are nicely prolonged. I would pair this Mencia with shepherd's pie. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The flagship wine produced from 21 small estate parcels on steep hillsides, is aged 15 months in new French oak and achieves the estate's highest levels of concentration and minerality.
