Wine Review: If you are looking for a different white blend wine, you should give this offering from Matthiasson a try. This is the third year in a row that we have recommended it. It is a pale yellow colored wine that opens with a green pear bouquet with a hint of vanilla and butterscotch. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and fleshy. The flavor profile is lemon with hints of green apple, caramel, and mild vanilla oak. The finish is dry and we detected just a touch of grapefruit showing up at the end. The panel suggested pairing it with chicken ravioli with a wild mushroom cream sauce or oysters. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The Sauvignon Blanc brings a clean fresh citrusy acidity and some tropical character. The Ribolla Gialla brings seashell minerality, nuttiness, and structure to the blend. The Semillon contributes viscosity and a ripe fig and beeswax character that adds gravity and weight. The Tocai Friulano adds spicy aromatic notes. The acidity and fruit expression is balanced by a rich lees character and a little sweet oak. There is interplay in the wine between lightness and richness, and focus and complexity.
