2008 Merriam Vineyards Chardonnay "Simoneau Ranch"![]() Winery: Merriam Vineyards Vintage: 2008 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Simoneau Ranch" Wine Category: Chardonnay Grape blend: 100% Chardonnay Region: Alexander Valley State or country: CA Price: $25 Cases produced: 115 KWG Score: 88 (based on 1 review) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good (88) Review date: February 6, 2010 Wine Review: This pale yellow colored wine opens with a very fragrant grapefruit and tropical fruit bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, balanced, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a tasty mild lime with notes of gentle minerality throughout. One taster in our group even detected a little peach. The finish is dry and nicely refreshing. This food friendly Chard would appeal to fans who like an unoaked or very light oak style of Chard or Sauvignon Blanc. I would pair it with steam mussels in a garlic broth. Enjoy – Ken Winemaker Notes: Light straw in color, with crisp stone fruit, floral notes of peach, pear and apricot on the nose. Thick and viscous mouth-feel with topical fruit of banana, mango and kiwi. Organic status: not organic Subscribers: Have you tried this wine? Rate it.(Not a subscriber?
