Wine Review: This Chardonnay from Merriam is clearly their best Chardonnay produced to date. It is white gold colored and opens with an inviting light oak and lemon like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, and displays a perfect blend of acidity and fruit. The flavor profile is a tasty mild oak and gentle apple blend with hints of white pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This Chard is very food friendly and would pair very well with chicken francese. There was not much of this gem made, order a bottle or two soon. Winemaker Notes: Bright straw in color. Tropical nose of papaya, orange honeysuckle, butterscotch and spice. Silky texture with hints of stone fruit, honey and melon. A soft finish with graceful acidity.
