Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with a fragrant black raspberry and plum bouquet with hints of black cherry and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, rich and juicy. The flavor profile is an oak and ripe plum blend with notes of black pepper and black raspberry. I also detected hints of minerality mixed in as well. The finish is dry and it flavors and moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. This is a bigger styled Pinot and would pair well a pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: In this aroma, one can luxuriate in a fragrance of baked cherry pie, crushed violets, Bing cherry jam, ripe black plums and Queen Anne cherry compote. The senses are equally flooded with scents of dried rose petals, currants and cherry eau de vie. Hints of caramelized brown sugar, toasty oak, new leather and clean mulch add complex, savory accents. On the palate, the tannins are rich and silky while the classic acid balance needed for long-term aging is very present. The sustained, sleek finish reveals blood orange, anise and black tea.
