Wine Review: This Pinot Noir from Owen Roe was the Big Winner in our recent Big Blind Tasting! It is a dark red colored wine that opens with a strawberry and black cherry bouquet with a hint of RC Cola and oolong tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth and its flavors captivate your mouth. Those flavors are a tasty blend of cherry-vanilla and cola with notes of mild blueberry and smoky oak. Its delightful finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this beauty with sauteed duck breast with wild mushrooms and shallots. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: We love the contrast between this reserve blend from the Durant Vineyard, and our Dundee Hills AVA designate. Same vineyard, same winemaking practices, but very unique wines. This 5-barrel selection aged in French oak for 10 months and has the same powerful mouthfeel as our Dundee Hills Pinot Noir, however, the focus shifts from bright ruby red fruit notes to herbaceous nuances of green olive, black licorice and nutty oak. Hints of dark blackberry and marionberry fruits shine through to define this Burgundian-like Oregon Pinot Noir. Definitely a Pinot for the Old-World fans.
