Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Touriga Nacional from Vallado was well received by all that tried it. It opens a medicinal cherry and blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a mild cherry and gentle oak blend with notes of black tea. I also detected a touch fig and mild minerality mixed in. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are very subdued for a Touriga. This wine is ready to go now and would pair nicely with Hasenpfeffer.
