Wine Review: This dark ruby colored offering from Renwood is a very nice and affordable weekday option. It opens with a fragrant black cherry bouquet with a hint of wintergreen. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe black raspberry with a hint of black cherry. On the finish, the fruit carries through and meshes nicely with its sticky tannins. I would suggest pairing this good value fruit bomb with a messy rack of ribs. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2007 California Petite Sirah is our salute to the Italian heritage of the grapes and grape growers that settled the Foothills and Central Valley of California. This wine is made from three classic grape varieties. This blend was the house wine for many generations and was probably the first wine given by parents to their children (well watered down of course). The wine was aged without any new oak and has the characteristic red fruit and spicy aromas these grapes are known for. The flavors are fresh and light with plenty of juicy fruit and a long crisp finish. This is a great wine for picnicking, grilling by the pool and any other easy quaffing situation.
