Wine Review: This slightly opaque dark purple colored Cab from Robert Craig is ready to drink right now. It opens with a mild black cherry bouquet with a hint of balsamic and anise. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, velvety, and easy going. The flavor profile is a spicy mild blackberry with integrated old oak. The finish is dry and its mild dusty tannins are slightly prolonged. Our mini group thought this wine would do well on its own or pair well with aged Gruyere. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Our 2004 Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon distills the essence of this appellation into a powerful and complex wine that emphasizes pure fruit flavors and supple tannins. The distinctive Mt. Veeder presentation of deep black cherry and cassis carries through from first sip to an impressive finish, while round, ripe mountain tannins provide the backbone for cellaring.

Clinking Glasses Before Tasting Wine: Originates from medieval times. Milk was often spoiled, water was often polluted. Wine was usually safe. The host would drink the wine first and then clink glasses with guests to show the wine was good and safe for drinking.
