Wine Review: This opaque and very dark ruby colored Zinfandel Port from Rombauer is very good. It opens with fragrant black cherry cordial bouquet with a hint of rum. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty blueberry and strawberry blend with notes of rum, cinnamon and stewed plum. The finish dry and some heat is present, but it does not distract. I would pair this Port with dark chocolate covered strawberries. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Highly viscous, this wine has a deep red to black core and a brick red rim. It opens with aromas of cherry liqueur, raspberry jam, brown sugar, almond extract and dark chocolate powder. Flavors of black cherry, raspberry, rum-soaked raisins, dried florals and dark chocolate fill the palate, and flow to a smooth and round finish. Dense, luscious and rich, this wine is a pleasure to sip and enjoy on its own or with dessert.
