Wine Review: This inky dark purple colored Petite Sirah is a made for lovers of very big wines. This one will also appeal to Port lovers. It opens with a huge black raspberry and raisin like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, but dense. The flavor profile is a concentrated and rich blackberry with notes of anise, prune, and walnuts. There is even a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. The wine is a big boy. Enjoy it on a cold winter's night with some sharp cheddar cheese. – Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This Petite Sirah is bold, yet elegant. Bringing Carignane into the blend adds a broader and softer dimension to the finished wine, along with a hint of rose petal in the bouquet punctuated with currants, blackberry, pepper and earthy spice. The flavors are of ripe dense blackberries, hints of vanilla, currants, black olives, and exotic spices. While this wine should age from 12 to 20 years, don't miss the opportunity to experience it now.

Clinking Glasses Before Tasting Wine: Originates from medieval times. Milk was often spoiled, water was often polluted. Wine was usually safe. The host would drink the wine first and then clink glasses with guests to show the wine was good and safe for drinking.
