2006 Spring Valley Vineyard US Red Blend "Uriah"![]() Winery: Spring Valley Vineyard Vintage: 2006 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Uriah" Wine Category: US Red Blend Grape blend: 54% Merlot, 33% Cab Franc, 7% Petite Verdot, & 6% Malbec Region: Walla Walla Valley State or country: WA Price: $50 Cases produced: 5,000 KWG Score: 93 (based on 5 reviews) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good+ (91) Review date: June 27, 2009 Wine Review: This very dark opaque purple wine opens with a blueberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and elegant. The flavor profile is a dusty blueberry with notes of strawberry licorice and black cherry. The finish is rather dry and its moderate tannins linger for quite some time. This wine is very versatile and food friendly. It paired perfectly with veal parmigianna. Enjoy - Ken Winemaker Notes: A nose of complex dark fruit with hints of cedar, crushed stone, an dry herbs leads into black fruit, licorice, and grenadine syrup on the palate. The perfectly integrated oak leaves no edge and the huge tannins are packed and concentrated but melt on the mouth. This wine has great aging potential and can be enjoyed now. - Serge Laville, Winemaker Organic status: not organic Subscribers: Have you tried this wine? Rate it.(Not a subscriber?
