Wine Review: This midnight black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Star Lane is impressive. It opens with an attractive ripe black cherry bouquet with a hint of oak in the background. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very nicely balanced and very smooth. The flavor profile is a black currant and black licorice blend with nicely integrated gentle oak, minerality and a touch of Earl Grey tea and red plum. The finish is dry and its refined mild tannins do linger in your mouth well after the wine is gone. That said, they do not get in the way and thus I would pair this wine with a filet mignon.
