Wine Review: This dark ruby port from the Finger Lakes was a hit with my sister who likes sweet styled wines. It opens with a fragrant wintergreen and plum bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and displays a round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a pleasantly sweet ripe black cherry and plum blend with integrated spices. The finish is semi-dry and its ripe fruit flavors linger nicely. I also credit the winemaker for hiding the 18.5% alcohol. You do not notice it at all. I would pair this port with a red velvet cake with a mocha frosting. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The fresh grapey aromas, flavors and semi-sweet finish make this fruity wine perfect for those who do not like the "puckery" taste of traditional dry, oaky red wines. May also be served chilled with chocolate, cheesecake and other rich desserts.
