Wine Review: This deep yellow colored white blend from Tablas Creek opens with a Bartlett pear bouquet with hints of apricot and bees wax. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very well balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a Bartlett pear with notes of minerality and honey. There was also a hint of green apple detected as well. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors linger nicely. I would pair this wine with trout almandine and grilled asparagus. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Esprit de Beaucastel Blanc shows aromas of honeycomb and white flowers lifted by savory notes of lemon thyme and tarragon. The mouth shows rich Roussanne flavors of ripe pear, honey and spice, a rich texture reminiscent of coconut and a long, dry, slightly tropical finish. The 2008 should drink well when young but will also reward time in bottle. Expect it to shine for at least the next 6-8 years.
