Wine Review: This organic Cabernet from Maremma, Italy is opaque and dark purple colored. It opens with a fragrant black currant and old oak blend. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, and displays plenty of fruit up front. The flavor profile is a spicy ripe black currant with notes of integrated oak and hints of black licorice and black cherry. The finish is rather dry and its moderate tannins linger for quite some time after the wine is gone. This is a New World Italian styled wine. Plenty of fruit and oak. I would pair it with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon has a vivid ruby red color with a tinge of purple. Its aromas are rich and suggestive of blackberry and blueberry with hints of oak and cinnamon. Smooth with a firm structure, it has a fruit-filled finish that lingers.
