2008 Zaca Mesa Viognier![]() Winery: Zaca Mesa Vintage: 2008 Wine Name/Vineyard: Wine Category: Viognier Grape blend: 100% Viognier Region: Santa Ynez State or country: CA Price: $20 Cases produced: 3,810 KWG Score: 90.1 (based on 6 reviews) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good (87) Review date: November 20, 2009 Wine Review: This very light straw colored Viognier opens with a pleasant mild lime and honey like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and zesty. The flavor profile is a unique anise and lime blend. There was also a touch of apricot noted on the back palate. The finish is dry and quite tingly. The panel suggested pairing this wine with chicken alfredo or smoked Gouda cheese. Enjoy - KWGTP Winemaker Notes: On the nose, aromas of honeysuckle and white peach hint at sweetness. However, this wine is dry on the palate with notes of ripe apricot, lemon-lime, melon and lychee. A lingering finish has a touch of minerality, a signature characteristic of our vineyard. A natural pairing would be Thai chicken, raw oysters, ahi tuna or Szechuan prawns.
