Wine Review: This clean and mouthwatering Riesling from Rheingau, Germany is pale straw color, with a very fragrant bouquet that includes white peach, wet slate, ginger, honeydew, and light floral notes. Generous, round and a supple mouthfeel on the palate. It is barely off-dry with zippy medium-plus acidity, medium body, and good balance. There are flavors of tangy white peach, wet stone, ginger, and lime juice. I also detected some ash and rose water notes. The finish is refreshing and long with pleasant minerality. Serve with Schaller & Weber’s grilled St. Galler bratwurst. - Mark
Winemaker Notes: An impressive, balanced Kabinett from the greatest Grosse Lage (grand cru) vineyard in the southern Rheinhessen region.
