Rebekah is the winemaker for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quintessa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Quintessa<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postandvine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Post &amp; Vine<\/strong><\/a>. We covered two current-release<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Quintessa wines and three Post &amp; Vine wines during the interview. We last interviewed Rebekah in January 2024, when we covered previous vintages of the wines. You can read about those wines in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kenswineguide.com\/blog\/?p=2266\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>that post here<\/strong><\/a>. In the current interview, Rebekah shared some updates since our last chat, so check out what we learned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Before we get to the wine reviews, I thought I would share a few tidbits we learned during the tasting with Rebekah.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What is new at Quintessa and Post &amp; Vine?<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2023 Illumination Sauvignon Blanc moved to lighter bottles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2022 vintage of Post &amp; Vine removed capsules and moved to lighter bottles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Post &amp; Vine switched to a technical cork in the 2021 and 2022 vintages.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2022 Post &amp; Vine Testa Carignane is a brand-new wine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Post &amp; Vine wine have another new wine in the 2023 vintage. An Old Vine Zinfandel from the <a href=\"https:\/\/historicvineyardsociety.org\/vineyard\/stampede-vineyard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Historic Stampede Vineyard<\/strong><\/a> in Lodi!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rebekah has been with Quintessa for 10 years now.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Quintessa replants about 5% of their vineyard each year, as they plan for the future.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/historicvineyardsociety.org\/vineyard\/mule-plane\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Mule Plane Vineyard<\/strong> <\/a>is also historic.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There is 30% whole cluster in the impressive 2022 Mule Plane Carignane!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Vintage Updates<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2020, 2021 and 2022 were all extreme drought years.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There was ample rainfall the next 3 years.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2023 was cooler with moderate to large crops.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2024 is going to be good.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2025 is already above what they need in terms of water.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Below is a summary of the terrific Quintessa and Post &amp; Vine wines that we covered with Rebekah.
