Wine Review: If you have been following my reviews over the years, you know how much I enjoy these bathtub red blend wines. Well this one from J. Bookwalter is another one of those wines that I really enjoyed. This wine opens with a wonderfully delightful sweet cherry bouquet. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied, round, not complex, and expresses hints of chocolate covered cherries. This is a fun barbeque wine. It is a wine that is very easy to drink and would serve you well as a very nice every wine. The finish is dry and short. Enjoy this Very Good wine with lots of friends; it will be a crowd pleaser. – Ken

Winemaker Notes: This wine, our 21st multi-vintage blend in 23 years is aged exclusively in small, carefully selected French oak barrels. For those that follow our Lot wines in cult-like fashion, Lot 21 is one of the best blends we have produced and will deliver immediate satisfaction. Largely from the outstanding 2005 vintage, the wine offers aromas black olive, plum, bing cherries and vanilla. The entry on the palate is sweet, almost caramel like, transitions seamlessly into a voluminous mid-palate and finishes with flavors of all spice, black berries and cherries followed by silky, lush tannins.
