Wine Review: I loved the 2003 version of this wine, so I was very excited to try the 2004. This dark ruby red wine opens with a very pleasant menthol like bouquet with hints of allspice and black current. On the palate, this full bodied wine is exceptionally well balanced and smooth. This flavor packed wine has juicy plum fruit flavors. This wine makes me yearn for a Bone-In Delmonico Steak from Grill 23. On the finish this wine is quite dry and lingers for a while. This is the kind of wine that makes you want a second glass or bottle for that matter. Run don’t walk, to find this exceptional wine. Cheers, Ken

Winemaker Notes: Our 2004 "Trio" combines the best elements of our Estate-grown Bordeaux varietals: Our Merlot is lush on the palate, and brimming with enticing aromas of briary fruit, black currant and spice. Mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon adds firm tannin and a long lingering finish - the iron fist inside the velvet Merlot glove - and the perfectly-ripe Cabernet Franc adds a touch of blueberry and a hint of Provencal herbs. Judicious use of oak allows the fruit to take center stage while adding nice structure to the chewy tannins. This wine is very drinkable now, but will age well for 3-5 years.
